During the cooler months, many people take the opportunity and escape to warmer areas on vacation. If you’re one of the lucky ones, Prescott Maid to Order would like to offer some suggestions for things that you should do before taking off on vacation to make your homecoming much nicer.

Take pictures – Yep, before leaving take a few minutes and snap a few pictures of some of those important items like your travel itinerary, prescription bottle labels and even your passport of you’re traveling out of the country. It’s much easier than having the information on bits of paper that could get lost.

Mail & Newspapers – You will want to put these on hold before you leave. Not only will these be an announcement that you’re gone, but having them held will eliminate the opportunity for the mail to be lost or stolen while you’re gone.

Facebook – DO NOT post an announcement on Facebook about your upcoming vacation and tell the world when you’re leaving and when you will be back. It’s much better to post pictures of your vacation after you get home!

Clean the House – Make sure you don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher. You will also want to go through the refrigerator and get rid of any foods that may spoil while you’re away. Make sure the garbage is emptied so that smells don’t grow.

Pets & Plants – You will also want to make sure that if you have house plants they are watered while your on vacation or they may not be alive when you get back! And you’ll want to arrange for pet care while you’re gone
